Compliance Unit

The Compliance Unit partners with the Certification Unit to provide quality assurance for all agencies under the Maryland Police Training & Standards Commission and Correctional Training Commission. The Compliance Unit conducts Selection Standards, Academy and In-Service audits for our client-agencies. Agency heads are notified in advance for in-person audits regarding academy and selection standards. In-Service Training audits are conducted virtually!

Academies are audited every two years per COMAR, reviewing both the terminal and enabling performance objectives as well as student mastery results, testing procedures, student attendance and the academy instructor list.

Selection Standard audits review documentation submitted on Applications for Certification (AFCs) for mandated positions. These are conducted every 3-5 years, or as requested by the Police Training and Standards Commission, Correctional Training Commission or the agency head.

In-service audits are conducted virtually every 2-3 years, requesting documentation regarding firearms, first line, and mandated training curriculum.
