Police Accountability & Reform
The Maryland Police Accountability Act of 2021 became effective July 1, 2022. The Act establishes requirements for police accountability and discipline, as well establishing other requirements for police officers to include mental health and physical agility assessments. Contact mpctcpolicereform.dpscs@maryland.gov for more information.
The Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission provides a variety of training programs for members of the public involved in Police Reform through their local county government. More information on these courses, including upcoming dates and how to register, can be found on the Police Reform Training form. All training is hosted at the Public Safety Education & Training Center (6852 4th Street, Sykesville) unless otherwise noted. If you are unable to attend the posted training, please consider submitting the ACC/PAB Training Interest Form or Command Staff Briefing Interest Form so that we can plan future training and locations accordingly. We appreciate your input!
