Correctional Training Commission
The Correctional Training Commission was established in 1971 by the Maryland Legislature. Its membership establishes minimum standards of training and selection for correctional officers in Maryland. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis or as needed. Contact ctc.dpscs@maryland.gov for more information.
Important Notice: The membership of the Correctional Training Commission has been updated as a result of SB402, effective June 1, 2024. The Governor’s Appointments Office is currently accepting applications and recommendations to fill vacancies on the Commission, which all require Senate confirmation. Applications and recommendations can be submitted online through the Appointments Office.
Correctional officers or officials from local correctional facilities, representing different regions in Maryland are needed to fill seats in the following regions:

(1) Representative from the Capital Region (Frederick Co, Montgomery Co, Prince George’s Co)
(1) Representative from Southern MD (Calvert Co, Charles Co, St. Mary’s Co)
Applications and recommendations should be submitted directly to the Appointments Office (link provided above). If you are aware of submissions to the Appointments Office, please inform our office so we can track the status and follow up accordingly.
Special Note: The Revocation Hearing on scheduled for Tuesday, September 10 through Thursday, September 12, 2024 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 3 through Thursday, December 5. The hearing will start at 9 a.m.
