Hispanic Heritage Month Highlight

Rosa Krouse says "Growing up, my mother's side of the family, especially grandma (who had 11 children), music was a huge part of our lives. So many family members who are so musically inclined, we enjoy going to party and clubs where my Uncle and his band would play the old traditional music of Puerto Rico with a four stringed guitar(EI Quatro). Following him, is his son and his two daughters. One of his daughters sings Opera. I have cousins who sings Salsa aside from being in the army. We are a very close family and music brings us all together. Though some of my family members still reside on the island, we never lose touch. Listening to the old traditional music from the islands gives a different perspective of our history and how music has changed over the course of our lives. I am so proud of the culture I was raised in and don't get me started on the food."
